TFF increases foreign player cap
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced its decision on the number of foreign players permitted on each team competing in the Super League as being six plus one.
What this translates as is a total of seven foreign players can be on an 18-member squad; however, only six of them can play on the pitch at the same time. This number has been increased from the earlier limitation of five plus one. The TFF also addressed other important items on the agenda at their meeting on Saturday, in which Hilmi Ok was elected the head of the Central Refereeing Board (MHK). Under the leadership of Ok, the new members of the administrative board are as follows: Sabri Çelik, Taner Yalçındağ, Serdar Tatlı, Hikmet Öksüzoğlu, Onur Sorguç, Sürhat Müniroğlu, Fethi Heper, Hatip Çopur, Ali Uluyol, Ahmet Erdoğan, Mustafa Arslan, Ahmet Orgun, Nazif Altınpınar, Metin Karaaslan, Hicabi Menteş, Abdullah Kaya and Metin Begüm. The board elected Gıyasettin Şenman as the deputy secretary-general following the death of Nüzhet Kiper Bağış. To honor Bağış's memory, the football pitch built for the homeless children's refuge in Siirt was named after the former deputy secretary-general by the board.
