Real Madrid prepare "Super Mario" Balotelli bid-reports
There are rumours that the Merengues have set their sights on Inter's teenage sensation Mario Balotelli and are ready to table an €18m offer in January.
Spanish website sport.es suggests that boss Bernd Schuster has been impressed by the Italy Under-21 ace, and the directors are ready to splash out to secure his services during the winter transfer session.
The 18-year-old striker was brought into the Inter senior team last year, after continued impressive performances for the Primavera side over the last few seasons.
Former boss Roberto Mancini handed Supermario his Serie A debut and he ended up being fundamental in landing the Beneamata their third Scudetto on the trot.
According to the whispers, the Blancos' offer could be in the region of €18m. Reportedly, Schuster is eager to fill the void left by Robinho's departure for Manchester City and has asked president Ramon Calderon to snap up the youngster.
But Balotelli has recently renewed his contract with the Via Durini side until 2013, and his wages will progressively reach the €1m per season mark. Moreover, the powerful hitman is a fans' favourite and president Massimo Moratti is unlikely to rubber stamp the move.
Balotelli was born in Palermo of Ghanaian parents and taken in by a foster family in Brescia when he was two, but only acquired Italian citizenship when he turned 18 in August.
