Barcelona's Eto'o goes against Laporta over compo plans
Samuel Eto'o has gone against Barcelona president Joan Laporta's push for national federations to pay clubs compensation if players are injured while on international duty.
The Cameroon striker said: "If unfortunately I was injured one day with my national team, I do not think my country nor my national association could afford this type of compensation.
"We need to consider this because some associations are quite poor and cannot pay compensation. "
Eto'o added: "We need to find a way to satisfy the clubs and national teams, an insurance policy to cover all of this. It would be a good idea."
