Barcelona ready to bid for Valencia's David Silva
Barcelona are ready to launch an £18 million bid for Valencia winger David Silva.
Silva's agent held talks for two hours with Valencia chiefs yesterday and while a new contract offer was tabled, the terms fell well short of what the midfielder is seeking, says Sport.
"We are where we are," said Julio Llorente, Silva's agent. "Neither closer nor further away."
Meanwhile, Barca are ready to pounce. Coach Pep Guardiola sees the Spain international as his ideal solution for the left-side of midfield and sports chief Txiki Begiristain confirmed their interest yesterday.
