Aston Villa to offer £8M for Spurs striker Defoe
Aston Villa are ready to offer £8 million for Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe.
Villa have already spent big this summer with the arrival of midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker from West Ham for £8.5million.
But owner Randy Lerner is prepared to make more funds available and boss Martin O'Neill is hoping to invest the majority of it in a new striker, according to the Daily Star. Spurs are expected to hold out for around £10million before considering the sale of Defoe, 24.
